Midway ISD offers full-day prekindergarten for qualifying 3-year old and 4-year old programs. (See eligibility requirements below.)
90% of human brain development happens before age 5. In other words, waiting until kindergarten to start teaching our kids is already too late. By enrolling your child in Midway ISD's Prekindergarten program, you give them the gift of a brighter future. PreK students are 3.5x more likely to be ready for kindergarten, and as adults, they also end up earning higher incomes, on average, than similar students who do not enroll in Prekindergarten.

Who is Eligible?
A child must be at least three years of age by September 1 of the school year and fit at least one of the following criteria:
Learn more at Texas Education Agency: Eligibility for Prekindergarten (opens in a new tab).
Midway ISD also offers limited placement for employees' children in prekindergarten programs.
We are unable to complete your child's enrollment and place them in a class if immunizations are not up to date.
Planning Ahead
Prior to the start of Kindergarten or the age of 5, whichever comes first, each child is required to have another DTaP (#5), Polio (#4), MMR (#2), and Varicella (#2).
When you live in Midway ISD, your student will be able to enroll in the Midway district, but it does NOT guarantee which campus your student will attend. Many grade levels and campuses fill to capacity which requires late registrations to go to overflow campuses. District administration may also reconfigure attendance zones to distribute population in dense areas.

4K (prekindergarten for 4-year-olds) is hosted at all elementary campuses. Midway's 3K program (prekindergarten for 3-year-olds) is only at Chapel Park, Hewitt Elementary, Park Hill, and South Bosque.
Prekindergarten is a five day a week program. Class will be from 7:40 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 3K prekindergarten half day is from 7:40 to 11:40 a.m.
Transportation Information:
4K prekindergarten students living in the attendance zone of the school they are attending and living outside a two-mile radius of the school may ride the bus to and from school. Transporation is not provided for 3K prekindergarten. Separate bus rider registration is required.
