DAEP - Reset

Midway ISD's Disciplinary Alternative Education Program focuses on restorative discipline practices to "reset" students. Restorative discipline is a fundamental change in responses to rule violations and misbehavior. The typical response to bad behavior is only punitive. Restorative discipline resolves issues in a cooperative and constructive way to try to solve the problems that led to the behavior initially. The "Reset" mindset focuses on prevention, intervention, and reintegration without repeat offenses.
