Midway ISD provides transition services for eligible students in order to coordinate movement from school to post-school activities such as post-secondary education, vocational assessment and training, employment, college/adult education support, volunteer experience, independent living skills, and links to community agencies.
Transition services are activities that prepare students with disabilities to move from school to post-school life. The activities must be based on the student’s needs, preferences, and interests, and shall include needed activities in the following areas:
It's never too early for parents to think about transition. Transition plans should actually drive the IEP goals so that students are prepared to the fullest extent possible.
