The Midway Art Department believes art offers a healthy, fun, and peaceful way to reflect on all that is going on around us and provides a much-needed outlet for individuals to pause, reflect, and appreciate the beauty in things that may seem mundane. In addition to teaching artistic skills, our dedicated and talented teachers strive to instill a deep love and appreciation for art in every student, allowing them to explore their creativity through a variety of mediums, including sculpture, painting, digital media, and printmaking.
In middle school, students will continue to grow their knowledge of art and participate in more advanced projects and mediums. At the high school level, we challenge and stretch students to prepare them for future experiences with art at the university or college level. As the only Midway Fine Arts program offering both AP and honors classes including Honors Art, AP 2D Design, AP 3D Design, and AP Drawing, students are truly prepared for what lies ahead. We also offer opportunities for students to compete in the Visual Arts Scholastic Event and showcase their artwork in our annual art shows.
