School Counselors Recieve Regional Recognition

At their final meeting of the school year, the Heart of Texas Counseling Association (HOTCA) honored two Midway counselors for their dedication to the profession and their impact on students, families, and staff.

HOTCA Outstanding Counselors (from left): Midway Middle School Counselor Cindy Cates and South Bosque Elementary School Counselor Cara Fisher.

South Bosque Elementary School Counselor Cara Fisher was recognized as Outstanding Elementary Counselor and Midway Middle School Counselor Cindy Cates was honored as Outstanding Middle School Counselor. 

Additionally, ESC Region 12 recognized four Midway counselors at their annual School Counselor Appreciation Luncheon and awards ceremony.

Rene Demaree at Park Hill Elementary, Kim Bullajian at Speegleville Elementary, Lindsey Ostrom at Chapel Park Elementary, and Ashley Steakley at Castleman Creek Elementary were all named 2024 Region 12 Elite Counselors and finalists for the Region 12 Counselor of the Year award in recognition of their outstanding service to the students, families, and staff they support.
