Women's Doubles Tennis Team Compete at State Tournament

With determination and skill, Addy Spruill and Emma Rhea from Midway Panthers Women's Doubles Tennis team faced off against top-seeded Clements in the state quarterfinals, showcasing the essence of high school sports.

From the outset, the Panthers fought fiercely, despite Clements taking an early lead. Coach Simonek praised their resilience, noting, "Addy and Emma did an amazing job as partners today.", said Coach Troy Simonek. After dropping the first set 2-6, Addy and Emma rallied back strategically, clinching the second set 6-4. The tension peaked in the final set, where both teams battled relentlessly.

"In the biggest stage of high school tennis, they showed incredible heart and fight," Simonek remarked. Despite trailing 4-5, Addy and Emma fought back admirably before Clements secured a 6-4 victory after a thrilling three-hour match. Although the outcome wasn't in their favor, Addy and Emma's performance left a lasting impression on Panther Tennis. Coach Simonek thanked the team for their dedication, highlighting their impact on the program's legacy.

As Addy Spruill and Emma Rhea conclude their high school tennis careers, their courage and determination will inspire future Panther athletes to strive for excellence both on and off the court.
