Cross Country Runner Sets New Personal Best, Qualifies for State Meet

Midway High School senior Jack Sterrett competed in the 6A UIL State Cross Country Meet held earlier this month in Round Rock. 

In his second trip to state, Sterrett finished in 36th place out of 150 runners with a 5k time of 15:49.20, improving on last year’s state time by 46 seconds.

Sterrett, coached by High School Head Boys Cross Country Coach Jon Capron, set a personal record at regionals to qualify for state and was the top finisher for the Panthers in fourth place overall.
