Midway ISD Gathers Input for New River Valley Principal

At Midway ISD, our first step in leadership decisions is listening to our families. The district hosted a Principal Profile Input Event March 6, inviting parents and staff to share their thoughts on the qualities they hope to see in the next leader of River Valley Middle School.

“As a district, we believe that strong schools are built on collaboration, and the best way to ensure we meet the needs of our students is by listening to our families first,” said Dr. Chris Allen, Superintendent of Midway ISD

The hour-long event provided an opportunity for attendees to give meaningful input on the future of the campus. Participants were asked to focus their feedback on key character traits, professional experience, and strengths that would contribute to a successful principal. This feedback will directly inform the selection process as the district seeks a leader who aligns with the needs and values of the River Valley community.

“There were no big surprises in the feedback we received—it all aligns with the high expectations we already have in Midway,” Dr. Allen added. “Our community values strong, student-centered leadership, coupled with strong character traits, and we will continue working to ensure that River Valley Middle School has a principal who upholds these high standards.

The event comes as Principal Jennifer Allison prepares to step away from her role at the end of the school year. With the input gathered, district leadership will now develop the principal profile, refine the job description, and begin the hiring process.
