Junior Brooklyn Brannon and sophomore Kaesyn Copeman won their local competition, advancing to compete against the top student nutrition teams at state.

The theme for this year’s challenge was "Vegetarian Lunch Entrée," where students were tasked with developing, preparing, plating, and presenting an innovative and healthy dish.

Brooklyn and Kaesyn’s dish was called “Southwestern Fire Cracker Tostadas”.

Competitors were required to create recipes using a predetermined pantry list and incorporate a set of mystery ingredients that were revealed during the event, testing their adaptability and creativity in real time.
