Three Midway Schools Earn Spot on Texas Honor Roll for Academic Excellence

Three Midway ISD schools have been named to the Educational Results Partnership’s 2023 Honor Roll list of top-performing schools in Texas.

Midway High School, Hewitt Elementary, and South Bosque Elementary are among the top 12% of all eligible schools in the state recognized for outperforming their peers in closing achievement gaps, particularly among higher-poverty and historically disadvantaged student populations.

The Honor Roll is the only school recognition program based solely on objective student achievement data. Results are based on student outcomes on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) from 2019 through 2023. Honor Roll schools are comprehensively higher performing on the STAAR Reading Language Arts and Math Assessments for all student populations served and are improving outcomes for historically underserved student populations.

Midway High School principal is Alison Smith, Hewitt Elementary principal is Christy Watley, and South Bosque Elementary principal is Sheri Burns.
