Spring Valley Elementary Assistant Principal Jackie Villarreal was named a 2023 Waco Under 40 honoree by the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce for her commitment to professional excellence and improving the Waco community.

Within Midway ISD, Jackie has taken the initiative to develop creative programs that meet the specific needs of her students. In a previous role at Midway Middle School, she saw a need to help special education students learn transferable skills from school to the workplace. In partnership with these students, she developed a small business experience for students: a coffee and treats cart run by the students, allowing them to apply their educational skills in a transferable and meaningful way.
Jackie's commitment to excellence is evident in her work, as she ensures that each of her ideas is grounded in best practices and research. In addition to her professional involvement, Jackie is deeply committed to public service and volunteers her time and skills with Meals on Wheels Waco, Special Olympics of Texas, and Royal Manor Nursing Home, among other organizations.
