At its November 19 meeting, the Midway ISD Board of Trustees allocated all 743 of its votes to Jonathan Green for the McLennan Central Appraisal District (MCAD) Board of Directors. The MCAD Board oversees property valuations that influence local taxes and school funding.
“The Appraisal Board’s decisions impact taxpayers and schools alike,” said Midway ISD Board President Pete Rusek. “Our votes help ensure effective representation for our community.”
Midway ISD, one of 43 taxing entities in McLennan County participating in the election, holds the fourth-largest number of votes overall and the second-largest among the county’s 20 school districts, behind Waco ISD.
The ballot includes seven nominees: George Chase, Jonathan Green, John Kinnaird, Dwain Moss, Jim Patton, Ben Perry, and Mildred Watkins. Taxing entities can distribute votes among multiple candidates or allocate them to a single nominee.
Elected board members will serve a one-year term starting January 1, 2025. Midway ISD will submit its resolution and ballot to MCAD by the December 14, 2024, deadline.
