Midway ISD Names New Assistant Superintendent

The Midway ISD Board of Trustees named Paul Offill as the district’s next Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services Tuesday, April 16 during its regular called board meeting.

Offill will begin transitioning into his new role immediately and will assume full responsibilities no later than July 1, 2024.

“Thank you to Dr. Allen and the Board, not only for this opportunity, but all the opportunities for growth in the district,” Offill said. “I am honored and humbled to step into this role and couldn’t be more excited that it’s right here in Midway. I am deeply grateful to the mentors and colleagues I have worked alongside throughout my time in the district. This opportunity is a direct reflection of their support.”

Offill has been in Midway ISD since 2009 and has spent the last six years as principal of River Valley Intermediate and Middle School. Before that, he served as a teacher, Midway High School head baseball coach, Midway Middle School athletic coordinator, Midway Middle School Assistant Principal, and River Valley assistant principal.

“Mr. Offill’s 15 years in Midway have been marked by his commitment to putting student needs first,” Midway ISD Superintendent Dr. Chris Allen said. “At Midway, he has served as a head coach, assistant principal, and principal. During that time he has led through COVID, transitioned River Valley Intermediate School to a middle school, oversaw significant building construction, and developed an assistant into a principal. His wide array of experiences coupled with a valuable skill set make him attractive for this new role.”

The Midway ISD Office of Administrative Services encompasses multiple departments serving students beyond the classroom. This includes school safety and security, management of truancy and transfers, and compliance oversight.

Offill earned a master’s degree in educational administration from Lamar University and a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University. He also holds a Texas superintendent certification. Paul and his wife, Emily, have two children: Katylu and Marc.

Details about the process to identify the next principal of River Valley Middle School will be shared with staff and families in the coming weeks.
