For the eighth consecutive year, Midway ISD has been recognized for upholding the highest standards of financial integrity and transparency set by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
The district received an ‘A’ rating indicating Superior Achievement in financial management practices through the state's school financial accountability rating system, known as the School Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST).
The 2023 FIRST ratings, based on financial data from the 2022 fiscal year, take into account a set of 20 financial indicators including administrative cost ratio and fund balance stability. Midway ISD excelled in all areas, displaying strong financial management and reporting practices.
According to TEA, the FIRST system holds public schools accountable to optimize financial resources, ensuring maximum funds are directed toward instructional purposes.
Midway ISD's consistent Superior Achievement rating over the past eight years underscores the district’s ongoing commitment to maximizing resources in support of quality education.
