Musicians in Midway High School’s choir and orchestra programs have been selected as Outstanding Performers at the 2024 UIL Texas State Solo and Ensemble Competition.
Midway ISD music programs have once again been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education Award, earning national recognition for 16 consecutive years.
Beyond playing the violin, three Midway High School students share more than just the same instrument—they are all recipients of the highest honor for music students in Texas.
Midway and River Valley Middle School choir, orchestra, and band earned an impressive array of awards at recent UIL Concert and Sight-Reading competitions this spring, with 11 out of the 14 music groups who competed across both campuses earning sweepstakes awards, which is the highest honor available.
After completing the rigorous All-State audition process, two Midway High School students are among the highest-ranking orchestra students in the state.
Once again, Midway ISD is among the Best Communities in the nation for music education. For the 14th year in a row, the district’s commitment to music education is being recognized by the NAMM Foundation as part of the Best Communities for Music Education award program.
